“Saamis: A stain on Scandinavia’s conscience”
Series of 7 illustrations I have made for the magazyn PISMO podcast.
It is a reportage about Saami people. Saami are indigenous people living in northern parts of Europe.
They are semi-nomadic people. They herd reindeers, which is a big part of their culture.
Podcast focuses on Saami life, poetry, songs and also on the oppression that those people had to suffer through the years. It also describes their way to achieving freedom.
In illustrations I tried to focus on beautiful folk clothes and Saami art that can be found on traditional drums. I also wanted to enclose beautiful northern landscapes and reindeers.
