I had a pleasure to design an album for a polish band Kirszenbaum. SIĘ was released on Friday 22th January 2021.
“Kirszenbaum is Wyspiański on mephedrone. The Krakow duo revive the post-folk ruins, give them fresh directions and throw them straight onto loopers, juxtaposing Tom Waits and Junip with a Slavic twist. Zola shouts klezmer, Henry Miller dances with the Mummies, and the result is a melancholic intertextual carousel. Kierkegaard wrote of them: It’s probably jazz. Nothing could be further from the truth. Kirszenbaum is a joint venture of Kacper Szpyrka and Jakub Wiśniewski.”
